Who are we?
Hi, I’m Nina Chen.
I believe that entrepreneurship, when done right, can be a powerful force for creating economic opportunity, improving lives, and strengthening communities. I founded Alta Succession to acquire and grow a single business in the education, workforce, and care sectors with a track record of doing right by its customers and employees.
Born in Beijing and raised in Toronto, I saw firsthand the differences in opportunity between those with resources and those without. This shaped my conviction that businesses can and should create good jobs that lead to financial stability and upward mobility.
I came to the U.S. on a full-ride scholarship and began my career advising Fortune 500 clients at Bain. Seeking more direct impact, I moved to Africa in 2018 where I helped companies raise hundreds of millions in investment, led experienced teams of people twice my age, and drove 50%+ revenue growth. The achievement I’m most proud of is my role in helping create thousands of jobs.
I returned to the U.S. to pursue an MBA/MS at Stanford, and launched Alta in 2024 to help business owners achieve liquidity from a lifetime of hard work, while advancing their legacy.
